Are you ready? Meco Rocket Simulator Coming Soon to Steam!

Meco Coming Soon on Steam

Meco Rocket Simulator is Coming Soon. That’s right, I did some road-mapping and figured I could get the “Coming Soon” page for Meco launched between December and January.

The Steamwork account is registered, and I have filled in the product information. The only thing missing is “Gameplay Screenshots,” followed by a review by Steam.

Embarrassingly, I started working on those “Gameplay Screenshots” in June, thinking it would take a few weeks to get them going. Five months later, I’m still almost there. 🙂

Why did it take that long? As it turns out, the way to make realistically detailed 3D models of rocket engine parts is to make them actual CAD models. That led me to “Learn how to make engineering CAD models programmatically.” And yes, writing code to generate rocket parts is a lot to do with Rocket Science.

Another post will cover the trials and tribulations of programming CAD models. Right now, we can be content that Meco Rocket Simulator will have a presence on Steam soon! Yay.
