The Meco Newsletter: What We Send, and How to Leave
The Meco Newsletter comes from Loren Aerospace Ltd, which is me, Dannie Sim, the person who builds Meco Rocket Simulator. Sequenzy sends it on my behalf. This page says what arrives, what we do with your address, and how to stop any part of it.
What arrives, and how often
Rocket engine development notes and news about Meco Rocket Simulator: what shipped, what broke, what I learned building it, and the occasional discount.
Expect a few emails in your first fortnight, then usually one or two a month. There is no fixed schedule and no filler.
It is one list. There are no topic settings and no frequency slider, so there is no preference screen to send you to. We would rather say that than build a screen with one switch on it.
Leaving
Click the unsubscribe link at the foot of any email we have sent you. One click is enough, it takes effect immediately, and we send nothing to confirm it.
If you cannot find an email from us, write to admin@mecorocketsimulator.com from the address you subscribed with and we will remove it by hand.
Changing your address
Sign up with the new address, then unsubscribe the old one from an email sent to it. There is no way to edit an address in place, and moving it by hand would mean us deciding that two addresses are the same person.
The advertising use, and how to object to it
We give Meta a scrambled copy of the subscriber list so it can find people who behave like you do online, and advertise Meco to them. We do not send Meta your email address: it is hashed first, one way, and it cannot be turned back. We exclude subscribers from seeing those adverts. You are the model, not the target. The privacy policy explains the mechanism and its limits.
You can stop this and stay on the newsletter. Write to admin@mecorocketsimulator.com and ask us to keep you out of the advertising audiences. We remove your address from the seed list and change nothing else. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.
We rely on legitimate interest for that use, which is why you have this objection separately from your consent to the newsletter itself.
What we hold
The record of your sign-up: when you asked, from which page, in which words, and the technical details of the request. We keep it while you are subscribed and for twenty-four months afterwards, so we can show you asked to hear from us.
We never sell your address, and we never rent, trade or hand it to anyone beyond Sequenzy, which sends the mail, and the hashed copy described above.
The privacy policy is the full account, including how to ask for a copy of what we hold or for it to be deleted. What the cookie banner controls is a separate matter and lives on its own page.
